Back in October 2019, Manchester hosted its annual Folk Festival, an event which Blue Shoes were given the honour of filming. The festival is one of the biggest on the folk music calendar and included an array of events, at a range of venues around Manchester, putting a spotlight on British folk music, art, drama and workshops. It featured some of the biggest folk artists in the UK, like Ferocious Dog, alongside exciting new acts.
We covered a large chunk of the artists on offer, including a number of award winning artists, such as 2017 Folk Band of the Year, Talisk, and BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner, Brighde Chaimbeul.
